Medicine, Storytelling, and the Spaces Between

About

Hi, I’m Dr, Katie. I am a General Practitioner and DPhil Candidate at Oxford University, researching social prescribing in general practice for people living with cancer.

My work is deeply rooted in evidence-based healthcare, lifestyle medicine, and patient-centered care, particularly in rural and remote Aboriginal communities.

As a breast cancer survivor and a proud Native American, I bring a unique perspective to my medical practice and research. I am passionate about improving healthcare accessibility, addressing social determinants of health, and integrating holistic, community-led approaches to care.

Currently, I provide comprehensive primary healthcare in Milingimbi, NT, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver culturally safe and responsive medical services.

My experience spans rural general practice, Aboriginal health, mental health, and public health research, with a focus on bridging clinical medicine and social support systems to enhance patient outcomes.
